Danish Teak Sideboard by Bordum & Nielsen B&N- Denmark c1960s.
A wonderful example of high end Danish Cabinetmaking. Solid teak fronted drawers (not veneered), sliding door units and internal double baize lined cutlery drawers with inter-changable shelves (3), Unknown designer but with full brand stamp underneath. This sideboard is mainly in solid teak so substantial and heavy. Similar to those designed by Arne Vodder and Nils Moller, the quality is superb throughout. The sideboard comes in wonderful condition, a great colour & patina with just age related wear. A small chip to nosing to back lhs and a chip to a back leg that is not seen.
For Reference: Bordum & Nielsen (B&N) was established in 1940 in the city of Aarhus, Denmark. Peter Bordum and O.A. Nielsen wanted to establish a factory producing handmade furniture. They eventually moved to Braband; and with a crew of 10, expanded their venture but remained a niche furniture manufacturer until the 1970’s.
