Joanna Constantinidis, (1927 - 2000) was a pottery artist who trained at the Sheffield College of Art and established a studio in Essex in 1950.
Part of the ‘new wave’ of potters that emerged in the 1950s and 1960s, Constantinidis explored the production of objects that were both functional and decorative. She experimented with and innovated new methods of throwing, firing and glazing pots and was awarded the Medal of Honour at the international exhibition of ceramic art in Faenza, Italy 1978.
Her works are included in the collections of many institutions such as the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Craft Council Collection.
